Abstract

Realm of The Trenches is a browser-based, real-time strategy card battler built on the Solana blockchain. It reimagines fast 1v1 and 2v2 arena combat inside a gritty war-fantasy world โ€” the Trench Realm โ€” where players build decks, manage War Fuel energy, and destroy enemy towers to win.

The game combines instant, skill-based gameplay with true digital ownership: cards, skins, and cosmetics exist as Solana NFTs, match results settle on-chain, and the $TR token powers rewards, staking, marketplace activity, and governance.

Vision

Our goal is a Web3 game that feels like a real game first and a crypto project second. Strategy, deck-building, and competitive climbing should be the core loop โ€” with on-chain ownership and rewards as a meaningful upgrade to progression, never a pay-to-win shortcut.

The Realm is built in the open, with a transparent economy and community governance over balance, formats, and reward pools.

Gameplay

Matches are fast โ€” roughly three minutes each. Players deploy troops, structures, siege machines, and spells in real time, spending War Fuel that regenerates over the course of the match.

The design goal is easy to learn, hard to master: a new player can win their first match in minutes, while high-level play rewards timing, placement, card counters, and War Fuel management.

Battle System

Each player defends three towers: one command tower and two side towers. Destroying the enemy command tower wins instantly. If the timer expires, the player who dealt more tower damage wins; a tie triggers sudden death.

War Fuel regenerates over time, forcing constant decisions about when to push, defend, or bait. Ranked matches affect trophies; tournament matches can reward $TR.

Card System

Cards span five types โ€” Troops, Structures, Spells, Commanders, and Siege Machines โ€” across five rarities: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic.

Players collect and upgrade cards over time. NFT-backed cards can be owned, traded, and displayed, but card power is balanced around skill and levels rather than spend.

NFT Ownership

Cards, commander art, tower skins, arena banners, clan flags, victory emotes, and seasonal cosmetics can exist as Solana NFTs. Ownership is verifiable, portable, and tradable through the integrated marketplace.

NFT ownership enhances collection, identity, and progression. It is explicitly not designed as a pay-to-win system.

$TR Token Utility

$TR is the primary reward and utility token of the Realm. It is earned through ranked wins, seasonal placement, clan wars, and tournaments.

Utility includes card upgrades and crafting, cosmetic purchases, tournament entry, marketplace trades, staking, premium clan features, and governance voting.

Staking Model

Players can stake $TR to earn sustainable, protocol-backed rewards funded by real platform activity โ€” match fees, marketplace fees, and tournament fees โ€” rather than pure emissions.

Reward rates are subject to gameplay balance, participation, and economic conditions.

Marketplace Model

The marketplace lets players buy, sell, and list NFT cards and cosmetics priced in $TR and SOL. A portion of every trade fee flows back into the economy and is partially burned.

Trade history and ownership are transparent and on-chain.

Leaderboard Rewards

Seasonal leaderboards distribute $TR to top commanders across 1v1, 2v2, and clan ladders. Rankings are verifiable on-chain, and anti-bot / anti-abuse systems protect reward integrity.

Higher rank means higher reward potential, but all earning is skill-based.

Governance

$TR holders vote on card balance changes, tournament formats, seasonal reward pools, new card releases, and economic parameters. Clans can organize as voting blocs.

Governance ensures the community shapes the long-term direction of the Realm.

Sustainability

The economy is designed around real sinks โ€” upgrade burns, crafting burns, marketplace fee burns, ranked entry sinks, and limited cosmetic mints โ€” balanced against skill-based emissions.

The aim is a durable, self-reinforcing loop where platform activity funds rewards rather than unsustainable inflation.

Phase 1 โ€“ Foundation: website, branding, litepaper, community, $TR setup. Phase 2 โ€“ Battle Prototype: browser arena, deck builder, matchmaking, wallet connection.

Phase 3 โ€“ On-Chain Layer: NFT cards, on-chain leaderboards, $TR rewards, marketplace testnet, staking. Phase 4 โ€“ MMO Expansion: clans, 2v2, clan wars, seasonal events, governance. Phase 5 โ€“ Full Realm Launch: ranked seasons, tournaments, mobile, esports.
